The incoming government of Sweden has announced their future plans for the nation last Friday during a press conference. One of the things this government aims for is to create stricter migration policies. Another important issue is to keep a closer eye on schools that have a Muslim profile, CNE News reports.
The the conservative Moderate Union Party, the Christian Democrats, Liberals and the right-wing Sweden Democrats presented the coalition agreement last Friday. Although during the election the Liberals had said they wanted to ban the denominational free schools, this was not mentioned at the press conference.
However in the agreement the school form is mentioned, the Swedish daily Dagen reports. Schools with a confessional orientation should be watched more closely, the agreement states. With that schools with a Muslim profile are mentioned specifically. The paragraph starts with the phrase: “There is a big problem with extremism and Islamism among schools with a Muslim profile”.
The parties also have agreed to reduce the number of immigrants in the country. The number of quota refugees should be reduced from about 6,000 to 900 immigrants.
