In Warsaw, Poland, hundreds of people from different nationalities, such as Polish, Ukranian, English, Syrian, Israeli and Spanish, have visited the touring exhibition The Bible Comes To Life (BCTL) this week. The organization testifies of the impact the exhibition has on people.
BCTL is an exhibition that uses “unique exhibition materials to teach people about living the Biblical life and gives the opportunity to experience fascinating artefacts that illustrate the foundations of our Jewish and Christian faiths”, The Church’s Ministry among Jewish People (CMJ), says on their website.
The exhibition attracts both believers and non-believers and impacts many people. Thursday the team posted on Facebook that a “group of recovering addicts” visited the exhibition. Also in a video on YouTube, Janey Hames of CMJ UK shares a testimony about a teenage girl who was deeply touched.
“A youth leader asked if he could bring in a group of young people who had been banned from their local city centre, because of their bad behaviour”, Janey shares in the video. “We said: ‘Yes please, do bring them in, these are who we want’. The evening involved offering them to select a card that would have a scripture on the back. Each one of them took a card. We knew that they were impacted, but one girl in particular said to the youth leader afterwards: ‘This has completely messed with my head. I know that something is going on here’. She asked for a Bible that evening. We gave her one and she actually read half of it within a couple of days. This is what it’s all about.”
Hands on experience
CMJ UK that organizes the BCTL-exhibitions started in the UK in 1809. Over the last 200+ years they have grown and spread out across the UK and beyond. On their website they write: “CMJ uses the Bible Comes To Life Exhibition to share with all ages. Giving hands on experience to try their hand at living the Biblical life and experiencing the fascinating artefacts that illustrate the foundations of our Jewish and Christian faiths”.
